Why is ZenDiS located in Bochum?

Bochum stands out in particular for its excellent transport links and proximity to potential cooperation partners. With the nearby Ruhr University Bochum, ZenDiS can benefit both in terms of attracting future talent and potential cooperation in teaching, research and development. The location and the planned office space offer ZenDiS a great opportunity to connect with innovative players and start-ups. In addition, this choice of location is intended to contribute to the promotion of structurally weak regions and thus to the creation of equal living conditions in Germany.

Is it possible to work part-time?

Yes, part-time work is possible.

Is it possible to work from home? How often do I have to be present?

Yes, you can work from home up to 60% of the time each month. Whether this is done on a weekly basis or every two to three weeks is to be agreed within the teams. This also includes, for example, when the fixed monthly team days for meetings in the office are to take place. Initially, attendance can be agreed on an individual basis and will then be reviewed and redefined as the team grows in size and composition.

What does a classification in the salary band depend on?

The salary band classification is based on the qualifications, expertise and experience brought to the position.

What further training opportunities does ZenDiS offer?

There will be some basic training opportunities, e.g. to provide a basic understanding of the public sector. In addition, self-directed learning will be encouraged and training opportunities will be tailored to suit the position and development opportunities as well as individual experience and skills. A fixed annual training budget will be made available for each employee for this purpose.

When can I expect to hear back about my application?

After submitting your application via the online application tool, you will receive confirmation of receipt by the following working day at the latest. If you do not receive this, please first check your spam folder and then check again that you have completed all the steps and submitted the form by clicking on ‘Apply’.

Where do the interviews take place?

The first interview will be conducted as a virtual (video) conference call. If you qualify for the second round of interviews, we will invite you to a face-to-face interview at our premises in Bochum.

Are travel expenses reimbursed? Who can I contact?

Travel expenses incurred in attending the interview will be reimbursed. The amount of travel expenses may not exceed the cost of a second-class rail journey. You will receive further information on travel expense reimbursement when you are invited to an interview.
