NKCS Conference 2026
Driven by geopolitical developments and global crises, the European cybersecurity market is growing. At the same time, efforts to achieve greater Digital Sovereignty mean that European providers are playing an increasingly important role. At this conference organised by the National Coordination Centre for Cybersecurity (NKCS), under the motto ‘Cybersecurity: A Market of the Future – A European Market for European Products’, current developments and initiatives relating to the topic will be examined, and ways in which the cybersecurity sector can be supported effectively and in a targeted manner will be discussed. The conference provides a platform to foster synergies, collaboration and knowledge transfer, and to strengthen Europe through targeted investment and innovation. In his presentation ‘A sovereign foundation rather than in-house development: Opening up the public administration’s software supply chain’, Julian Schauder (DevSecOps Lead, ZenDiS) will demonstrate how products, specialist processes and platforms can be integrated into secure supply chains through ZenDiS projects, such as the Secure Government Container Initiative (SGCI), thereby opening up a broad, sovereign market. The SGCI provides hardened open-source container images for public administration – validated and open.
